Proposals
Please invite colleagues to submit a proposal to present a paper or to organize a complete session. Proposals are submitted to session organizer as listed below. Deadline to receive abstracts or full papers is January 15, 2004. Send proposals on Word 2000 by e-mail to the Session Organizer listed.
GUIDELINES FOR WRITERS OF PROPOSALS FOR SESSIONS, PAPERS AND WORKSHOPS
The Theme:
"Luso-Hispanic Presence in the Changing Cultural Landscape of America"
Deadline for session organizers to submit competed sessions to program coordinator February 1, 2004.
Sessions will be 75 minutes long. There may be one, two, or three presenters in each session. Presenters must indicate the length of the paper or presentation so the session organizer can cluster sessions by theme, genre, period, area, and length of time. etc.
Papers may be fifteen, twenty or 30 minutes long. With three presenters in a session, each will have 20 minutes and there will be ten minutes for questions at the end of the session. If there are two presenters in a session, each will have 30 minutes and at the end there will be ten minutes for questions.
If there is only one presenter there must be 10 minutes allowed for questions at the end. Please time your presentation so you will use only the time scheduled for your session.
1. AATSP members may read one paper and chair an additional session. Only AATSP members in good standing are allowed to present. No papers will be read in absentia.
If you want to submit a proposal but you are not a member of AATSP at this time, you may become a member. Please visit the website at: www.aatsp.org
On the Website please find the membership form, download it, print it, fill it out and mail it with the dues amount to the AATSP Corporate Office in Exton, PA. You may use a credit card to pay your dues.
2. Presenters must pay the 2004 dues by January 1, 2004 to appear on the preliminary program. This program will be printed and mailed in February 2004. Everyone whose proposal to present is accepted must be a member in good standing by 1 January. No exceptions!
3. All presenters must pre-register for the Biennial Meeting. Only names of pre-registered presenters will appear on the final program. No exceptions!
4. Session chairs and presenters in your session will be responsible for preparing and duplicating handouts. Please plan to provide at least 30 packets of handouts for your session. The Biennial does not have facilities onsite to copy handouts for presenters. There are commercial places near the campus where you can get copies made at your own expense.
5. Audio-visual equipment requests must accompany your proposal (see AV equipment needed).
Proposals must be received by the session organizer on or before 15 January 2004.
Workshops. AATSP pre- and post- Biennial Meeting workshops are scheduled for 3 hours and will grant CEU's or PDP's. Please allow time for audience questions and participation. You are invited to submit workshop proposals. Please submit such to Marco A. Arenas at marenas@aol.com

Submission format:
Please list the title of session and/or paper. The full name and affiliation, information, e-mail addresses, of all presenters of contact person for each paper and session and titles of presenters in the following order.
Title of paper, session or workshop.
Full name, affiliation, address with phone, fax number and E-mail. Home address with zip, phone and fax number and please indicate preferred mailing address and e-mail.
Abstract-
Please describe your paper, session or workshop in 5 sentences or less. Please include the objectives and the method of delivery, i.e. Power Point, discussion, text based instruction, interactive, hands-on or demonstration.
Language of Presentation:
Please indicate language of presentation: English, Spanish or Portuguese.

Audio-visual equipment needed:
A. The AATSP Biennial Committee will make arrangements for the following audio-visual equipment if requested with the proposal by the January 15, 2004 deadline. An overhead projector and screen will be provided in all rooms.
B. Please check each piece of equipment needed for your workshop, and indicate the presenter(s) that will use each piece of equipment. There will be no charge for equipment requested by the deadline, if available. Efforts will be made to accommodate all requests. There is a limited number of VCRs and LCD projectors. Presenters who will use a laptop are urged to bring their own. Deadline to submit proposals: 15 January 2004.
